MAPNA Group entered a deal with Thermal Power Plants Holding Company, affiliated with the Energy Ministry, on Saturday (March 13), for operation of MGT-75 turbine.
The state-of-the-art turbine will be employed in Be’sat Thermal Power Plant, in southern capital Tehran, to convert the old facility into a combined-cycle plant.
MGT-75 is an advanced heavy-duty gas turbine designed and developed by MAPNA Group to meet a wide range of the demanding energy environment and customers’ needs.
Incorporating cutting-edge technologies, the MGT-75 is engineered to provide customers with high efficiency, low emission, and high operational flexibility.
The advanced F-class gas turbine offers a 222MW and 330MW electricity generation capability, respectively in simple-cycle and combined-cycle power plants, and can compete with similar global products.
The MGT-75 also boosts the efficiency rate of combined-cycle power plant to over 59%.
The turbine also consumes less gas and is more eco-friendly while tripling the efficiency of older power plants.
The MGT-75 can be built in the 190-230MW power range while maintaining the same productivity to meet the needs of customers.
Besides gas, the advanced turbine can run on hydrogen -a zero carbon fuel- substantially reducing the power plant’s emissions.
MAPNA and its subsidiaries have also designed and manufactured steam turbine, generator, power and control system, digital monitoring system, and artificial intelligence-based productivity optimization system for MGT-75 gas turbine.
MGT-75 and its accompanying equipment are the fruits of seven years of designing and manufacturing efforts by MAPNA Group.
MAPNA unveiled an E-class MGT-70(3) turbine in mid-2017 intending to improve domestic power generation infrastructure and increase international competitiveness. So far, 42 MGT-70(3) turbines have been supplied to domestic and foreign power plant units.
