MAPNA Receives PAC for 1st Gas Unit of Medium-Scale Zahedan Power Plant

MAPNA Power Plants Construction & Development Company (MD-1) Company received a provisional acceptance certificate (PAC) for the first medium-scale gas unit of Zahedan Power Plant on August 12, 2023.
The MD-1 has achieved a PAC milestone with the addition of this unit, bringing the total number of temporarily delivered units to 146 with a total capacity to 19,824 MW.
The gas section of the Zahedan power plant project consists of three MGT-40 gas turbines, each with a 42 MW capacity, three generators and the associated GTG auxilary equipment, as well as converting the previous unit to run on diesel.
The project site is located at km 10 of the Zahedan-Gurband road, opposite the water treatment plant, in Sistan and Baluchestan Province.
The third medium-scale gas unit of the plant was synchronized with the national grid in January.
Thermal Power Plants Holding Company (TPPH) is the client of the porject while Ghods Niroo Consultant Engineers Company acts the client consultant.
This power plant is part of a contract signed by MAPNA Group and the TPPH to build seven medium-scale gas power plants.
As per the contract signed in December 2021, MAPNA was tasked with building the gas units each with a capacity of 42 MWs as well as other necessary systems and ancillary equipment. Accordingly, medium-scale units are being constructed in Zahedan Power Plant, Morvarid Power Plant (Kish Island), Banglan (Jask) Power Plant (Hormozgan Province), Doroud Power Plant (Lorestan Province), Shush Power Plant (Khuzestan Province), and Khatam Power Plant (Yazd Province).
The conglomerate managed to complete the project some 10 months after the deal was signed.
The control system of the units has been designed and manufactured by MAPNA Electric & Control Engineering & Manufacturing (MECO).
MAPNA’s medium-scale power plants have the ability to generate offshore and off-grid power and are economically suitable for various industries.
