The Khorramabad Combined-Cycle Power Plant project received the Final Acceptance Certificate (FAC) for the steam unit, following completion by MAPNA Thermal Power Plants Development Company (MD-2). MAPNA Group implemented the project as the main contractor while Khorramabad Power Generation Company financed it. Khorramabad Power Generation Company is the client of the project and Moshanir Power Engineering Company is the project consultant and supervisor.
The project was developed to ensure stable energy supply and reduce imbalance in Iran’s national energy grid. This milestone was achieved thanks to the round-the-clock efforts of the dedicated workforce at MAPNA Thermal Power Plants Development Company (MD-2) and by using the full capacity of MAPNA Group factories.
Khorramabad Combined-Cycle Power Plant serves as a driving force for the social and economic development by creating numerous job opportunities and enhancing local capabilities. In addition, it contributes significantly to the economic growth and prosperity of Lorestan province by providing the energy required for industries.
With the synchronization of this unit of Khorramabad CCPP, MAPNA Thermal Power Plants Development Company (MD-2) has brought a total of 134 units online across the country, contributing a cumulative 21,014 megawatts to Iran’s electricity generation capacity.
Khorramabad CCPP project is located on the Andimeshk ring road. It includes one combined-cycle block consisting of two gas units, each with a capacity of 162 megawatts, and one steam unit with a capacity of 160 megawatts. Technical features of the plant include the V94.2 gas turbine and the E-Type steam turbine.
