Two units in phase 3 of Khurmala Gas Power Plant, located in Kurdistan region of Iraq, were synchronized by MAPNA on August 2, 2016.
Nasb Niroo, a subsidiary of MAPNA assigned with installation and pre-commissioning of the gas units, completed the synchronization last Tuesday.
The project had kicked off on November 1, 2015 and was completed according to the designated deadline, despite difficulties rising from security and geopolitical challenges in Iraq.
MAPNA’s participation in the project has been in line with its Go International strategy aimed to export technical knowhow to the international market.
Located 40 kilometers southwest of Erbil, regional capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, the Khurmala gas power plant includes two 172-MW units, together providing a generation capacity of 344 MWs.
