MAPNA QESHM WATER AND ELECTRICITY GENERATION COMPANY
Power and water cogeneration projects in Hormozgan province were inaugurated with Qeshm Power and Water Cogeneration project. It is the first investment MAPNA made in the business. The project has two units each of 25 MW (total 50 MW under ISO condition) and 18,000 cubic meters of water per day. Both 25 MW units are worked out and water desalination unit is in pre-operation phase.
The EPC scheme was assigned to a consortium of MAPNA and MAPNA Special Projects Construction and Development Company (MD-3 Company). The project was initially to be completed by 18 months from start date and was in operation phase already in 2013. First gas unit was commercially operative by 2013 and the second unit entered the phase in 2014. Key features of Qeshm power and water cogeneration project include:
- MAPNA’s first distributed generation unit with 2 * 25 MWs capacity;
- First power and water cogeneration unit with a 50 MW + 18000 m3 capacity;
- First potable water supply contract between MAPNA Group and Rural Water and Wastewater companies (ABFAR);
- First power generator in Qeshm Island,
- First holder of TAVANIR certificate for 53.8 efficiency rate in CHP units
- Direct sale of water to consumers
Construction of first bottled water production unit by MAPNA
