ALGERIAN ENERGY MINISTER VISITS MAPNA

On Saturday afternoon, MAPNA Group was host to Algerian Minister of Energy Noureddine Boutarfa.

Mr. Boutarfa, who has traveled to Iran weeks before a long-awaited OPEC meeting in Algiers, took a tour of MAPNA facilities in Karaj, 40 kilometers west of Tehran, on September 3, 2016.

Mr. Boutarfa was accompanied by a senior delegation of Algerian energy officials, including representatives from the country’s national state energy firm Sonatrach.

MAPNA President Abbas Aliabadi accompanied Mr. Boutarfa through the tour which included visits to MAPNA Turbine Engineering and Manufacturing Company (TUGA), MAPNA Turbine Blade Engineering and Manufacturing Company (PARTO), and MAPNA Generator Engineering and Manufacturing Company (PARS).

Addressing the conducive conditions for trade promotion between Iran and Algeria after the July 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and six world powers, Mr. Boutarfa welcomed MAPNA’s presence in the Algerian market, pointing to opportunities available to the Iranian conglomerate in power plant services and renewable energy sectors.

Mr. Boutarfa also met with Iran’s Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh and Minister of Power Hamid Chitchian during his three-day visit to Iran which had started on Friday.
