MAPNA Synchronizes Gas Unit of Dokouheh Power Plant to Grid

The gas unit of the F-class Dokouheh power plant in southwest Iran has been synchronized to the national grid.

The gas unit of the F-class Dokouheh power plant in southwest Iran has been synchronized to the national grid.

The synchronization was completed in late January 2023.

Located near the city of Andimeshk, on the 15th kilometer of Karkheh Dam Road, Khuzestan Province, Dokouheh Combined Cycle Power Plant comprises a single gas turbine with a capacity of 307 MWs, a triple-pressure HRSG (heat recovery system generator), a steam portion with a capacity of 141 MWs, and an air-cooling system.

The eco-friendly project comes in line with an agreement between the Thermal Power Plants Holding Company, a subsidiary of Energy Ministry, and MAPNA Group to improve efficiency and reduce electricity waste.  The agreement stipulates the construction of 5,000 MW of thermal power plants by 2024, using F-class gas turbines made inside the country.

Among key features of the F-class turbines include lower fuel consumption and higher compliance with environmental standards.
