MAPNA Group, a leading Iranian industrial conglomerate, and its railway subsidiaries have secured several contracts to manufacture and sell different types of wagons at the 10th International Exhibition of Rail Transportation and Related Industries Equipment in Tehran.
The exhibition, which ran from September 26 to September 29 at Tehran’s International Permanent Fairground, showcased the capabilities of Iranian companies in the rail industry and introduced the latest equipment and methods in this field. More than 100 companies participated in the event, which also featured various workshops and seminars.
MAPNA Group’s Wagon Pars Company, which produces passenger and freight wagons, signed four deals with different customers during the exhibition. On the first day, it agreed to supply 100 grain hopper wagons to Parsian Rail Shargh Co. and 50 ballast wagons to Tejarat Kushesh Sepahan.
On the second day, it signed a contract with Bonrail company to produce 30 passenger wagons. On the final day, it reached an agreement with Parsian Railway Transport Development Co. to deliver 100 gas tank wagons.
In total, Wagon Pars won contracts to sell 280 wagons of various types at the exhibition. It also held preliminary negotiations for manufacturing 280 six-axis wagons, 100 low-sided wagons, and five passenger wagons.
In addition, it signed a deal to buy 1500 sets of freight wagon wheels from Kafriz Company.
Another subsidiary of MAPNA Group, MAPNA Locomotive Engineering and Manufacturing Company, which produces diesel-electric locomotives among other products, also secured a contract to sell 10 MAP30 freight locomotives to Sepahran Rail Rasa Co. MAPNA Group is one of the largest industrial groups in Iran, with activities in power generation, oil and gas, railway transportation, and other sectors.
