Shahinshahr Solar Plant covers an area of 15 hectares in the Shahinshahr region of Isfahan province. It reached commercial operation following the completion of the development, design, procurement and construction phases. The electricity generated by Shahinshahr Solar Plant is sold through a guaranteed power purchase agreement (PPA), in accordance with Article 12 of the Law on Removing Barriers to Competitive Production.
The annual energy output of the plant stands at approximately 22,667 MWh. This amount of clean energy contributes to saving 5.5 million cubic meters of natural gas or approximately 5.6 million liters of diesel fuel. It also cuts carbon dioxide emissions by 13,500 tons per year.
Shahinshahr Solar Plant was implemented with the primary objective of expanding clean energy production, addressing the national energy imbalance, and increasing the share of renewables in the country’s power generation mix.
This project was constructed and commissioned as part of the 1,000 MW solar plant development program of MAPNA Iranian Power Plant Management Group. The company financed the project under the leadership and ownership of MAPNA Renewable Energy Generation Company.
