Executed by MAPNA Group, this milestone was achieved in a record-breaking timeframe, highlighting the company’s rapid project delivery capabilities.
The synchronization of the second gas unit took place at 6:36 AM on Friday, April 17, 2026.
MAPNA Power Plants Construction and Development Company (MD-1) executed this phase of the project. The team successfully synchronized the unit in just 99 days from the time the turbine was delivered.
This rapid turnaround is recognized as one of the fastest execution times ever recorded for power plant projects in the country. All installation, commissioning, and technical testing operations were completed successfully.
This follows the earlier success of the project’s first unit. That initial unit was connected to the national power grid on July 20, 2025.
The Neka expansion project utilizes the MAP2B gas turbines, manufactured by MAPNA Group. These advanced turbines each provide a capacity of 183 MW.
With the successful operation of this second unit, the total number of power units synchronized by MD-1 has reached 165 units. This brings the company’s total synchronized capacity to 22,690 MW.
The Neka Combined Cycle Power Plant is located in Neka County, at kilometer 25 of the Zaghmarz road.
Iran’s Thermal Power Plants Holding Company (TPPH) is the client for this project. Moshanir Company serves as the project’s official consultant.
