Chabahar Power Plant includes two 157.5-MW V94.2 gas units in ISO conditions with a total capacity of 315 MWs.
The plant is located 15 km from Chabahar on the road to Iranshahr, Sistan and Baluchestan Province and all the units have been delivered to the client.
Iran Power Development Co. is the client of the project and the client consultant is Ghods Niroo Consultant Engineers Company. Tara Niroo Sepahan also acted as the supervisor.
The main contractor of the plant was MAPNA Power Plants Construction & Development Company (MD-1) which started operations on April 17, 2006. The construction operation took over 23 months and the plant’s first unit was synchronized to the grid in 2008. The final unit received the Final Acceptance Certificate (FAC) on August 16, 2010.
The Chabahar Power Plant project achieved a remarkable milestone by setting a record for the highest installation progress in a single year, reaching 82% in 2008. This accomplishment stands as one of the notable achievements of the project.
Furthermore, the client company took on the responsibility of engineering, supplying, and constructing the GIS substation for the power plant, which operates at a capacity of 230 KV. Following the approved strategy, the project was executed through 16 contracts with various subcontractors in the fields of engineering, equipment supply, and implementation.
The steam section of the Chabahar power plant consists of a 160-megawatt power capacity, featuring an E-type steam unit. The client of the project is Saba Sharq Power Generation Company and the client consultant is Ghods Niroo Consultant Engineers Company.
